I have read so many books in my life, that it’s honestly quite hard to pick single favorite one. So many books have made me feel a different way, have taught me something different, challenged my views in a controversial topic, or have simply inspired me to become a better person. Overall, it’s quite hard for me to be able to pick a single book that I can consider an all time favorite. However, if I really had to pick a single book, then it would have to be Girl in Translation by Jean Kwok. The writing and the character development is phenomenal, and I loved the metamorphosis that the protagonist goes through throughout the course of the book. The book’s message – to work hard despite adversity and to have grit even when everything seems impossible – truly resonated with me. I have read this book more than once, and I value it and love it more each time. It’s an empowering book, and one that I would definitely recommend to my peers, especially to all the female bosses out there who were born to lead.
